Preparing to Fly Load up the 4 AA batteries in the controller, plug the avenger right in, and charge it up. You’re ready to go, just like that! Testing I’m not going to beat around the bush on this one. The V-Wing Avenger flies AMAZINGLY well! It is completely and utterly stunning. It flies very stable and very slow, and is extremely easy to control, while being very responsive. The wings flap very fast, so it’s more like a large, slow moth than a bird. It’s not like a weak, frail moth, though, but a strong & confident one. If you get too low and want to gain altitude quickly, max out the throttle and it climes very rapidly with an explosive burst of speed and lift. It’s impressive to watch, and even more so to control

My son who is 10 years old told me about this product. I ordered it for him for Christmas and he was estatic about receiving it. He loves this remote control flying man/bird. It’s really cool how it flaps it’s wing and flies around the house. It’s made out of styrofaom so I didn’t worry about him hitting anyone with it. I totally recommend this toy to any child. My husband and I love it too. Nephews bday is coming up, i was thinking about purchasing another one.

i’m a small/indoor flying enthusiast. i’ve tried just about every flying toy that Air Hogs has put out, as well as others (from the $30 Piloto to the $300 Carbon Butterfly), not to mention several RC ornithopters (wing-flappers) like the Dragonfly and Vamp.

this is EASILY one of the best flyers from Air Hogs, second maybe to the Cyclone Havoc (the manta-shaped lifting body, not the helicopter) and possibly the best toy-grade ornithopter, too.

mine flew perfectly right out of the box. it’s slow and controllable, able to fly in a 10×10 room easily. it does not seem to have as much interference issues with other Air Hogs or Silverlit infra-red (IR) flyers.

this is the first ornithopter i’d recommend for a child younger than 8-10. it doesn’t take as much skill or patience as the other wing-flappers, nor does it need as much room. it’d make an ideal first flyer, too.

it’s light enough that it’ll bounce off anything without breaking, but the mylar wings may tear easily and it didn’t come with replacements. like other toys like this, the foam is hard to break, and when it does it can be easily re-glued, or even taped.

it uses the same controller as the Palm-Z/NanoHawk and Cyclone. not the best, but they work.

in short, great toy! i myself don’t like the “robot” look much, but your kid may disagree. XD

This is a great toy. I bought my second one for my 7 year old nephew. He can’t get enough of it! It is great for hand eye coordination and I’m shocked how well it works. It quickly charges and is fine for indoor use. Cat and dogs love looking at it wings flap and can barely hurt anything. It is also shocking how delicate it appears but how durable it actually is. It lasted for 5 months before I needed to purchase a second one. I highly recommend it.

First day:
Works very well. Hilarious to watch and operate. Behaves much like a large moth – and a 4 year old can sort of manage it. Well done toy. I would add that it’s quite dainty… not for a brute child.

I bought an orange and black one for my husband and son to play with for Christmas on the previous lightning deals. At first my husband was very irritated with it because the controls are sensitive so he was banging it against everything! Through all of the banging into things this little heli is still in tip top shape and my husband has got the hang of it and LOVES it!! My son is only 2 so he can’t fly it yet but he laughs hysterically when this little heli goes zipping by! The entertainment is worth the money and though the construction of the heli may look a bit flimsy these are tough little guys!

I bought this for my son’s 11th birthday two weeks ago. His is camouflage/green, but otherwise is exactly the same model pictured as Havoc Heli 10th Anniversary Edition.

This heli is lots of fun. It is very easy to fly. My son had no trouble learning to use it. I enjoy flying it, too (the first RC toy I’ve ever enjoyed). It has withstood many crashes so far, and seems very durable. It charges quickly, and flies for quite a while before you need to recharge. The trim works great to straighten out the heli. It flies great in our family room with 8 foot ceiling and about 14 x 16 foot floor space.

Out of the box, it doesn’t fly forward much — it tends to hover. This is VERY EASILY adjusted by taping a small, folded piece of tin foil to the front. You can suit to taste.

For the money, this is far and away the BEST remote control toy I have ever bought. Highly recommended.

This heli is easier to fly than the regular havoc heli. I really like it. It is durable too.

I’ve spent a considerable amount of time with this R/C helicopter and I still have difficulty navigating it correctly. I’ve mastered vertical throttle and use of the trim controls, but the left and right directional controls leave much to be desired. In my experience, sliding the directional control to the left only makes the helicopter spin in a counter-clockwise fashion while sliding the control to the right allows for a something of a circular clockwise flightpath. I’ve used all three of the included foil nose-weight adhesive tabs yet the helicopter still has trouble with forward flight. Beyond that, the toy is very durable and fun to play with even if all you’re doing it controlling vertical flight and landing it. Oh, and it’s also quite fun to mess with your dog using the helicopter.

You get about what you pay for. With a little practice you can fly these things. But the remote doesn’t have anywhere near the range advertised. You have 20 feet max then they drop like a rock. I would recommend them for a cheap way to enjoy SHORT flights.
