Well, if you’re not sure about whether you will take this up to a more sophisticated level, then yeah, this RC Heli is what you’re looking for. I came into this hobby on a whim; wasn’t sure what was good/bad; just wanted to get started and the price was okay (unfortuantely it was cheaper on Amazon vs. where I ordred it from).

THE NOT COOL! the electronics are fussy. You have to play around with the chanel switches, the lights and throtle to get it to think about moving at times. It didn’t come with the USB charger. However, at other blogs I found out that this was a disadvantage since there was no way to find out when it was fully charged VS when you charge it on the transmitter/remote controller, the light will turn red to let you know you’re ready to fly. DO NOT FLY THIS TO THE POINT WHERE THE CHARGE COMPLETELY DIES!

THE COOL! It’s fun to learn on this. Fairly stable, haven’t had to use the adjusting knob. Accelerates/Decelerates pretty well. Tail Rotar does a good job pushing it forward, but a little unpredictable when you want to move it backwards. Turns circles very well. Just overall, a good learning-to-fly model.

More than anything, it’ll give you an idea of what to expect for what you want in the future and the price on Amazon is way cheaper than what I got it for.

E-Sky LAMA V4 RTF Coaxial Remote Controlled Helicopter (Blue Color) Review

Super stable flight, easy to trim, very good quality helicopter, great for begginers. Buy it, it`s worth every buck you pay for it.

Much like the other (2) reviews of this product, we have found this Helicopter to be very stable in flight and a lot of fun to fly. Unfortunately for us, we have had a few crashes that have resulted in the need for some replacement parts, which are readily available either from Amazon (for simpler stuff like blades and landing gear) or from other on-line retailers.

We are new to the RC Helicopter realm, so I would like to offer some advice to beginners (like us).

First, take full advantage of the Flight Simulation software that comes with this product. It allows you to connect the 4-ch controller directly to your PC’s USB port. Make sure to configure the control setting properly to match the way it will fly your helicopter in reality. Unfortunately, the instructuctions on how to do this were not 100% clear, but we figured it out with some trial and error. If you aren’t sure of the controls and don’t want to risk a crash, have one adult hold the body of the helicopter firmly (and away from your body) while another gently attempts to control the helicopter. The adult holding the helicopter will be able to report what it is trying to do (Yaw, pitch, roll, altitude). I think the Flight Simulator is much harder to fly, but that is OK, because a real flight will be a piece of cake.

Second, DO NOT Attempt to fly this indoors for the first time. Objects inside your house are much harder than objects outside (floor and furnature vs grass and trees) and you WILL damage various (replaceable) pieces, particularly rotors.

Last, be prepared to order spare parts. We have had only a few successfull flights and are currently grounded until new parts arrive. As mentioned by others, the durability of some of the parts isn’t the greatest. Blades are rather fragile. We managed to damage some of the plastic gears on one of the rotors (missing two teeth) which doesn’t make it inoperable, but results in a clicking noise during flights. The landing gear is not the sturdyest either. A light metal replacement would be nice, because the thin plastic gear that it comes with will fail with one hard landing.

My son bought this and it flies great. But you cant go too high because if you do you will lose control and crash. It broke in the cover of the front, Broke in the tail twice, and in the tail adjuster. It still flies fine, but Hes a terrible helicopter flyer, so yours could last longer because you may be better than me when It comes to flying, He already broke his B-52 r/c plane in the first 20 seconds of the fisrt flight,He blamed it on the wind!!!!!!!!!LOL

I bought this as a Christmas present for my brother. The helicopter has suprisingly good durability and survived many crashes. Within the first 5 min, my brother drove it into our pond and after drying off it still worked. Unfortunantly, after about 4 days he drove it about 50 ft up in the air, and then it free-fell to the ground and crashed an pretty much everything broke. I would not recommend this for kids or anyone who doesnt have common sense enough to safely fly it. It is alot of fun!
